Matinez' Magic

I was watching the Swansea match on telly at the wknd and like many was really impressed by the style of their play. I thought that it was a nice refreshing approach to see a side play with confidence in their ability and also in their team mates. Against Premiership opposition which came in the form of Fulham and under the guidance of Roy Hodgson this Fulham side are reformed from the shadows of last season and are a strong compact/efficient unit away from home,  that aside Roberto Martinez' side managed to play with style and flair that would not have looked out of place being played in the Nou Camp. I picked up on a real sense of enjoyment from the Swansea players as even in the early opening, normally tense first minutes they passed the ball with comfort and an assurance seemly beyond the level of a battling Championship side. Although the result was a draw the character shown in outplaying a decent mid tabled top flight side showed that Swansea would be well suited to life in the next round. With the replay at Craven Cottage to follow I hope that Swansea can turn the style into substance and get the result that their performances deserve. I want to wish them luck with the replay but I will save the gesture for if the do get the result against Hodgson's men, surely the luck will be required against the 5th round opponents Manchester United.
